Sandberg 2in1 Bluetooth Keyboard

Rev. 11.04.18

1 Introduction

Sandberg 2in1 Bluetooth Keyboard easily converts your tablet or mobile phone into a laptop. You will get a much better hand position and be able to type faster with fewer typos. The clever 2in1 Bluetooth feature enables a simultaneous connection of two devices and easy switching between them. The keyboard has a built-in rechargeable battery, so you don¡¯t need to worry about expensive and cumbersome battery changes.

1.1 Indicator-LEDs, jack and keys:

2 Use

2.1 Charging, indicator and ON/OFF key:

Connect the enclosed USB cable between the keyboard¡¯s micro-USB port and a USB port, e.g. on a computer or mobile charger to charge the device.
The LED marked with a battery icon will blink with a red light during charging and turn off when the battery is fully charged. We recommend that you fully charge the battery before using it for the first time. Charging time is approx. 2 hours. This LED will blink again when the battery is almost running out and charging is required again.
The keyboard will enter ¡°Sleep Mode¡± after 10 minutes without activity and can be activated again by hitting a random key. We recommend completely turning off the unit on the ON/OFF switch on the right side of the keyboard when it isn¡¯t used for a period of time.

2.2 Connection to 1 or 2 Bluetooth units:

  1. Turn on the keyboard using the ¡°ON/OFF¡± switch on the right hand side.
  2. LED for Bluetooth channel 1 will briefly blink with a blue light.
  3. Hold the ¡°Fn¡±-key and ¡°1¡±-key down at the same time for 3-4 seconds until the blue light starts blinking again to indicate that the keyboard is now in ¡°Pairing Mode¡±.
  4. On the unit that you wish to connect to the keyboard, you now go to settings and look for the Bluetooth set-up. Here you select ¡°Search for Bluetooth Units¡±. After 20-30 seconds, ¡°Sandberg Keyboard¡± will appear on the list of units. You now need to choose pairing it with this by hitting it on the list.
  5. Your unit will now produce a numerical code of 4 to 8 digits that you need to write on the Bluetooth keyboard and press ¡°Enter¡±. The units are now connected.
  6. If you want to connect 2 different units simultaneously, e.g. both a mobile phone and a tablet, you repeat the process 1-5, but begin by choosing Bluetooth channel 2, by pressing the ¡±Fn¡±-key and the ¡±2¡±-key down at the same time.
  7. After the units have been paired for the first time, it is no longer necessary to carry out the entire process above. When you turn on the keyboard, it will automatically be registered in the future.

3 Daily use:

3.1 Choice of unit:

You select the desired unit connected to either Bluetooth-channel 1 or Bluetooth-channel 2 by simultaneously holding down the ¡°Fn¡±-key and either the ¡°1¡±- or ¡°2¡±-key. The indicator LED will briefly show a light for the chosen channel. The LED for the chosen Bluetooth channel will continue to blink slowly to indicate that it has been connected.

3.2 CapsLock:

The Indicator-LED named ¡°A¡± will lighten up when the ¡°CapsLock¡±-function (permanent capitalised letters) is chosen. At the same time, the LED for the Bluetooth channel, which it has been chosen for, will blink slowly.

3.3 Choice of Operating System:

It is possible to set the keyboard to function optimally with the operating system that the connected units use. When the relevant unit has been connected, you hold down the ¡°Fn¡±-key at the same time as one of the blue symbols on the keys ¡°Q¡±, ¡°W¡± or ¡°E¡± for choosing respectively ¡°iOS (Apple)¡±, ¡°Android¡± or ¡°Windows¡±.

3.4 Key missing or doesn¡¯t fit

As this keyboard is universal, it has been adapted to the applicable industry standards for external ¡°HID¡±- keyboards via Bluetooth. However, as the market consists of different products from thousands of hardware producers and many generations of operating systems in addition to a mix of different language versions, it is possible that the character you see printed on a key is not the same as on your screen. In this case, check the settings on your unit where you may be able to change the set-up for external keyboards for the best adaptation.

We hope you will enjoy your new keyboard!
